A Time Delay Relay has a device that delays the instant switching on or off of the contacts when power is applied or removed from the relay. Some of these relays are built with a kind of “shock absorber” or “magnet protection” system that is connected to the contacts. These systems prevent instant complete movement when the coil is either energized or de-energized. Timing Relays are widely used in appliances, automotive and industrial applications.
