Rectifiers

A Rectifier is a semiconductor that converts alternating-current into direct-current and only allows current to flow in one direction. This is the process of rectification. This type of diode is formed by joining a p-type (anode) and n-type (cathode) commonly known as a P-N junction diode.  The opposite function that changes direct-current to alternating-current is performed by a converter.
