A Bridge Rectifier also known as a diode bridge is a configuration of four diodes that comes in a pre-assembled module. Bridge rectifiers are used to convert alternating-current to direct-current and only allow the current to flow in one direction. Bridge rectifiers are commonly used in power supplies and battery chargers. The bridge rectifier was originally invented by Karol Pollak in 1895.
