The Notifier FCM-1 Control Module Addressable provides an intelligent fire alarm for notification appliances like horns, strobes, speakers, etc. The addressability allows being activated, either manually or through panel programming, on a select (zone or area of coverage) basis. Control Modules are intend for use in intelligent, two-wire systems, where the individual address of each module is select using the built-in rotary switches. This allows to switch an external power supply, which can be a DC power supply or an audio amplifier. It also supervises the wiring to the connect loads and reports their status to the panel. The FCM-1 has two pairs of output termination points available for fault-tolerant wiring and a panel-control LED indicator. This module can be use to replace a CMX-2 module that has been configure for supervised wiring operation. Finally, in consequence, the Notifier FCM-1 Control Module is use to switch 24 VDC audible/visual power, high-level audio (speakers). Upon code command from the panel, will disconnect the supervision and connect the external power supply in the proper polarity across the device. In addition, the disconnection of the supervision provides a positive indication to the panel that the control relay turned ON. The external power supply is always relay isolate from the communication loop so that a trouble condition on the external will never interfere with the rest of the system.
